Museums are for the young ...
and the old.
Museums can increase our sense of wellbeing ...
and help us feel proud of where we have come from.
and if we let them, museums can inspire and challenge us ...
to be better people.
We created our Wish List Program to highlight items we need at White Sulphur Springs Ranch that would enhance new or existing programs or projects at the ranch that benefit the community.
Here is how it works. We will list items on this page that fit these criteria. When you see an item you would like to support, simply click on the "Make a Donation" button.
Once in the donation screen, enter your donation amount and select the item you want your tax deductible donation to support.
You can even make a donation anonymously. After making your donation you'll receive a tax receipt via the email address you entered.
On August 2, 2023, White Sulphur Springs Ranch was proud to present the first in a series of interactive virtual tours of the Buffalo Bill Center of the West Museum, located in Cody, Wyoming.
The Buffalo Bill Center of the West Museum is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institute. It is rated as one of the top western museums in the country having five massive wings, each devoted to a separate theme. The first interactive virtual tour presentation was from the "Plains Indians" wing of the museum and was very well received by those in attendance. Future virtual tours will present the remaining four wings of the museum.
This interactive virtual tour was done through a LIVE video and audio connection with a docent in the museum. That live connection was then displayed on our television at the ranch. The docent walked through the museum talking about the exhibits and asking attendees if they had any questions. Attendees were able to see and speak with the docent in Cody during the presentation.
Following the presentation, we asked for input and got some great responses that we believe will enhance this program along with future educational presentations.
Our first presentation was done with a used television and no real sound system. Attendees felt that a larger television and a real sound system would significantly improve the viewing and audio experience for everyone. We agreed and felt this change would also improve our house tour presentations for the disabled who might otherwise not see the restoration work we have done upstairs or outside on the grounds. This improvement would also complement our Living History School Days Program where 3rd graders spend a day on the ranch learning about life in the 1850's.
Here is how you can help!
Listed below are two items we feel will enhance our audio-visual capabilities at the Ranch. Both of these items will significantly improve presentations for our 3rd grade "Living History School Days" program, our disabled program, and our Virtual Tour program. We hope you'll support our volunteers who manage these programs and want them to provide the best learning experience possible for our young and old alike.

This 75" UR8000 TV uses an ADS panel, and in addition to good color accuracy, this also means wide viewing angles suitable for audiences viewing from the sides as well as directly in front of the TV.
The wide screen (75") also makes viewing suitable for large groups such as our 3rd grade "Living History School Days" program at the ranch, or our Virtual Tour program.
