To Create Lasting Memories You have to Pave the Way "BRICK by BRICK"

Buy Your Brick Today

This Memorial Day, May 31st, while reflecting on the brave service of our troops,  we hope you will consider honoring that service with a Legacy Brick.

Our “Build a Legacy - Brick buy Brick”  program allows donors to buy a brick and have it engraved with an inspiring message.

During the month of May and especially this Memorial Day, May 31st, we are asking supporters to consider purchasing a Legacy Brick and help us "Pave the way toward creating lasting memories".

Some suggested ideas for your Legacy Brick include:

1. Honoring a Brave Soldier for their service.
2. Honoring the name of a "First Responder". Each year thousands of children are saved by first responders like police, fire, nurses and doctors. This is a great opportunity to show your gratitude for their selfless work and a great positive message for your community.
3. Honor the name of your Law Enforcement or Fire Department.  A 2018 survey showed that there are more volunteer firefighters (745,000) in the US than those who are paid (370,000). Of those volunteers, 78,500 are women. Their willingness to serve their community for free is certainly something we could all celebrate.
4. Honor your business. Businesses are the cornerstones of communities. They not only provide the products and services we need and enjoy, but they also support our schools, little league teams, non-profits and more. What a great positive message to celebrate with a Legacy Brick.
5. Honor your family. All Families are important. They provide a safe and secure environment in which to be nurtured, and for us to grow into productive citizens. What a great way to memorialize and celebrate your special family for all they have done.
6. Commemorate your wedding anniversary.
7. Celebrate the birth of a child.
8. Honor a champion athletic team.
9. Honor the name of a deceased friend or relative.
10. A religious sentiment.
11. A special thank you.
12. An inspirational message.

We hope you will support WSSR and the good work we are doing for our community, by purchasing a Legacy Brick. We are a non-profit so your purchase is tax deductible. He was a frequent visitor at the Mohawk Community Resource Center (MCRC) in Blairsden. He enjoyed the library and some of the other conveniences. As it is for so many residents of Eastern Plumas County, the resource center is a familiar and important community meeting place. In the course of his many visits, he got to know the MCRC coordinator, Holly Johnson. After a while and many conversations later, Holly realized that this guy had an important story to tell. He was a senior citizen, a longtime resident of Graeagle, and a part of the history of Plumas County. Paul Bianco’s grandfather came to Ellis Island from Italy in 1917, probably to escape the world war that was destroying Europe. Paul’s father was a World War II naval veteran and Paul was born in San Francisco in 1946. He was in his late 30’s, on a long horseback ride on the Pacific Crest Trail in 1985 when he stopped for a while in Graeagle. In his words he was “overwhelmed” by the appearance and ambiance of the community. He saw an impressive loo
